So, you go home from work, it is already dark. You check the mailbox at the entrance of the apartment complex. You find a letter from your bank. The envelope has 'Second Alert!' written on it with big red letters. Next to it, there's another note saying you have 14 days to reply.
What comes first to your mind? 'Oh, shut what have I forgot to tell them?! What copy do they want this time of my passport/visa etc.?!'
And what's inside? They are trying to sell you their latest service... For just $15.99 month you get unlimited access to your credit history, you'll get alerts if someone using your SSN tries to subscribe to services or get a loan, etc.
Personally, I think it is a nasty way of merchandising.
